On Thursday, March 7, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a call from an individual at a residence located on Beatline Road, stating that an individual had been shot. Sheriff deputies and first responders were dispatched to the area.

 

Upon arrival, sheriff deputies made contact with an individual who stated her two juvenile children had sustained gunshot injuries. Pafford arrived on scene and treated the individuals.

One individual, identified as a 16-year-old, black male juvenile was transported via Wings to Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN.

 

Another individual, identified as a 14-year-old, black male juvenile was transported by Pafford to Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN. Both victims are expected to survive.

 

During the preliminary phase of the investigation, investigators learned shooting occurred at Cottonland Village Apartments, outside, located at 1655 Beatline Road in Tunica, MS. While on scene, sheriff deputies observed an apartment had been struck by gunfire as well.
