Sheriff's Office Investigates Juvenile's Homicide


On Saturday, December 15, 2018 at approximately 11:21 p.m., while a routine business check was being conducted, Sheriff Deputies advised the Communication Center of shots fired in the area of 2251 U.S. Highway 61 North DBA “Lots of Love”.

Once inside the business, Sheriff Deputies located one (1) individual with a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.  The individual was treated and transported by Pafford Ambulance Service to Region One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was later released.  The individual was identified as Tyrese Lockett, 19, of Horn Lake, Mississippi.

While Sheriff Deputies were investigating the above-mentioned incident, they heard several gunshots coming from behind the business located at 2251 U.S. Highway 61 South, in the Auditorium area, located at the intersection of Coldwater Street and Sears Avenue.

Once Sheriff Deputies arrived in the area, they located (1) individual near the Auditorium with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.  This individual was later pronounced dead on the scene by the Assistant County Coroner/Medical Examiner.  This individual was later identified as Michael Jackson, 15, of Tunica, Mississippi.

During the investigation, Sheriff’s Investigators located one (1) stolen firearm and arrested Damarius Dixon of Clarksdale, Mississippi for Possession of Stolen Firearm.
