PRESS RELEASE

Date of Incident:       July 29, 2019

Time of Incident:       8:37 a.m.

Location:                    Royal Inn & Suites, 3515 Highway 61, Tunica, Mississippi

On Monday, July 29, 2019 around 0837 hours, the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a welfare concern at the Royal Inn Hotel on Highway 61.  On officer’s arrival at 0844 hours, two subjects were found unresponsive.  A black male subject was airlifted to the Methodist University by wings.   The black female subject was pronounced deceased on the scene.  The cause of death is unknown pending the results of an autopsy.  At this time, no names are being released.

This investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
