DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
At approximately 1:28 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019, the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call for medical assistance at the Aquatic Center located in the G.W. Henderson Recreation Complex, at 1165 Abbay Drive, Tunica, Mississippi 38676.
After receiving this Medical Request, the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched Pafford Ambulance Service (County Medical Provider) and a Deputy Sheriff to this location.
On arrival at the Aquatic Center, Sheriff’s Deputies met and spoke with Mr. Anthony Fincher of 7377 Overlook Drive, New Albany, Mississippi. He, Anthony Fincher, advised the Sheriff Deputies that he allowed his son (age 5) to climb the twelve-foot (12’) diving platform and his son became afraid of the height and fell hitting the concrete floor.
The juvenile was treated on the scene by Pafford Ambulance Service and was later airlifted by Pafford Air One to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, in Memphis, Tennessee for further treatment.
