UPDATE Valero Shooting

TIME OF INCIDENT:    Approximately 2:32 a.m. 

LOCATION:                   1433 U.S. Highway 61 North, TUNICA, MS  37686 (Valero) 

 

UPDATE: 

 

Early Sunday Morning, January 26, 2020, at approximately 0232 Hours, a shooting incident occurred in the area of Valero, located at 1433 U.S. Highway North, in Tunica, Mississippi. As of January 31, 2020, one suspect remains at large, and three individuals are in custody related to this incident. 

 

Jimmy Dotson, identified as the driver of the grey Toyota Camry involved in the incident, is still at large. Dotson is wanted for accessory after the fact. The Tunica County Sheriff's Office ask anyone with information pertaining to his whereabouts to please contact the Tunica County Sheriff's Office at 662-363-1411 or Crime Stoppers at 662-910-0400. ALL CALLS REMAIN ANONYMOUS! Any information leading to an arrest can pay up to $1,000. 

 

Eric Brandon, Jr. wanted for accessory, remains in custody with the Tunica County Sheriff's Office. He appeared before a circuit court judge on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 and was denied bond. This was due to currently being out on bond for a crime commissioned prior to the Valero incident. 

 

On January 27, 2020 at approximately 0500 hours, Zumbrota Police performed a routine traffic stop which led to the arrest of Jernard Black and Martrevious Sanders. During this stop, two handguns were recovered.  

 

Jernard Black, wanted for armed robbery and attempted murder in connection to the Valero incident, remains in custody at Goodhue County Jail in Red Wing, MN. Black is also being held pending charges on a DeSoto County warrant. 

 

Matrevious Sanders, wanted for aggravated assault in connection to the Valero incident, remains in custody at Goodhue County Jail in Red Wing, MN.  

 

At this time, local charges have been dropped by MN and Black and Sanders are being held while waiting on extradition. The request for extradition has been signed by MN at this time. 

 

The Tunica County Sheriff's Office and the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office are working with other federal agencies on the investigation of the firearms recovered in the MN traffic stop.
