PRESS RELEASE

TIME OF INCIDENT:    9:23 P.M. (2123 Hours) 

LOCATION:                Shell Gas Station/Checkers 

                                6804 Casino Strip Resort                               

                                Blvd. Robinsonville, MS 38676 

 

DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT: 

On Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 9:23 P.M., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call stating shots had been fired at Shell Gas Station/Checkers. Deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene. 

 

Upon arrival, deputies located one individual suffering a gunshot wound. The victim, an Arabic male, was treated on scene by Pafford and transported to Baptist DeSoto for his injuries. 

 

While on scene, deputies located one individual identified as the suspect. This individual was detained on scene, and while detained was discovered to be bleeding from an apparent gunshot to his finger. This individual was treated on scene for his injury by Pafford. 

 

The suspect was taken into custody by Tunica County Sheriff's Office and escorted to the Tunica County Sheriff's Office Detention Center for questioning. This individual was identified as Stephen George Harris, black male, age 29. Harris has been charged with Aggravated Assault and issued a bond for $75,000.00.
