UPDATE: Man in Custody after Casino Parking Lot Shooting

UPDATE: 

Michael Nesbitt, 29, of Tunica, Mississippi is in the custody of the Tunica County Sheriff's Office following an incident that occurred on Friday, January 1, 2021 in the parking lot of a local casino where several vehicles were damaged as the result of gunshots.  

Nesbitt will be charged with multiple counts of felony malicious mischief and one count of Discharge of Firearms within Subdivisions and populated areas in which people live and work. 

 

DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT: 

On Friday, January 1, 2021 the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at approximately 3:12 a.m. stating an individual was shooting in the parking lot of a casino property. Deputies were dispatched to the area. Upon arrival, deputies discovered several vehicles had been damaged as a result of gun fire. 

 

The Tunica County Sheriff's Office has an active and ongoing investigation into this incident. Once the investigation develops a suspect responsible for this incident, the identity of the suspect shall be released.  

 

Individuals that are victims of this incident have the right to file criminal charges or a civil lawsuit against the suspect for any damages or loss of property.
