Collecting Items for Tornado Victims

03/27/2023

To our friends and partners in Tunica County,

On March 24, 2023 - the lives of several thousands of Mississippians were forever changed by the damages and mass destruction caused by severe thunderstorms, high straight-line winds, and tornados. Unfortunately, these storms claimed the lives of 25 Mississippians and left dozens of others injured. These storms ravished through a path across our state and wiped out entire communities of homes, businesses, public property, and so much more.

In the aftermath, it is time for us to do what we do best and help our neighbors in need in their time of despair. Tunica County Sheriff's Office is partnering with our local community to collect and transport items to those in need in Carroll, Humphreys, Monroe, and Sharkey counties. We will be collecting supplies throughout the week this week, and coordinating with Mississippi Emergency Management Agency to coordinate delivery of items to those affected.

Listed below are items that are desperately needed at this time. If you are able to assist with these efforts to help our fellow Mississippians in need - you may bring items to our lobby located at 5126 Old Mhoon Landing Road - Tunica, MS 38676. We thank you for your generosity and support in this project.

Your law enforcement partner,

K.C. Hamp

Sheriff
