On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at approximately 9:39 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call stating there was a subject lying in the roadway unresponsive on Old U.S. Hwy 61 south of Mhoon Landing Parkway in Tunica, MS. Sheriff's Deputies, First Responders, and Pafford were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, one black male individual was located with severe injuries. The individual was treated on scene but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Tunica County Coroner. The individual was identified as 38-year-old Michael Bell of Tunica, MS.

While on the scene, deputies located evidence that suggested Mr. Bell had been struck by a vehicle. This evidence led to a vehicle description. On Thursday, July 6, 2023, Tunica County Sheriff's Office arrested De'Aryius Williams, 22, of Tunica, MS with Felony Hit and Run.
