Tunica County is often coined as Mississippi's Casino Haven: Where Luck and Luxury Meet.
Those of us that call this county home are indeed lucky because we have our six casino properties here! These venues boast lavish accommodations, world-class gaming floors, and exceptional service. However, it is their willingness to serve their community that is most noteworthy.
Just last week, Downtown Tunica experienced a catastrophic water line failure along the north side of Academy Drive from Main Street to the west. 1,460 feet of line failed. The Town crews patched the line in 9 places. Each time the line is repaired, failure occurred in a new location. Unfortunately, this left residents effected with little to NO water in their homes.
What does this have to do with the casinos? (you might find yourself asking...) Without hesitation, all six casino properties donated water to citizens effected by these circumstances. Within an hour of reaching out, the Sheriff's Office was able to pick up and deliver pallets of water to the Town of Tunica to get to the homes of those in need.
We appreciate the Mayor, Board of Alderman, Tunica Emergency Services, Town of Tunica Public Works, and these six casinos for helping us get water to those without at their homes:
