Commander Brown Participates in DRE Certificatons

Last week, Commander Tyler Brown (Training and Recruitment) traveled to Houston, TX to participate with MS Training for Impaired Driving Enforcement certification class to certify officers from across the state of Mississippi to become Drug Recognition Experts (DRE).
We would like to extend our thanks to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez with the Harris County Sheriff's Office for hosting this training at the Harris County Joint Processing Center.
Training for Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) is essential. This certifies officers to be experts in the field of drug impaired driving and to be able to determine the types of drugs a person has ingested based on observation.
Such training is crucial for law enforcement officers to aid in preventing deaths and injuries caused by those who choose to endanger others by driving under the influence of drugs. DREs work to promote road safety for us all.
We are fortunate to have Commander Brown on staff at TCSO as one of the state's Certified DRE Instructors!
