Domestic Violence Awareness

10/04/2024

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month!

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is held each October as a way to unite advocates across the nation in their efforts to end domestic violence. Communities and advocacy organizations across the country connect with the public and one another throughout the month to raise awareness about the signs of abuse and ways to stop it, and to uplift survivor stories and provide additional resources.

We have partnered with the Tunica Woman's Club to collect items to help those living in domestic violence situations. These items will be donated directly to the House of Grace. The House of Grace has operated a Domestic Violence Shelter for over twenty years in North Mississippi. They provide education and services to clients who are victims of domestic, family, and dating violence without regard to age, creed, sex, race, color, veteran status, religion, disability, sexual orientation, marital status or national origin.

Drop off locations include the Tunica County Sheriff's Office, Town of Tunica Police Department, and Town of Tunica (Town Hall). Items will be collected now through October 17.
