The men and women in law enforcement are more than just officers. They are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, and so much more. Every time they put on their uniforms, they never know if it will be their last. But still they go - into the burning buildings, into the face of danger, into the unknown - all to protect us.

 

Today we honor the brave men and women who went to work one day and never returned. Unlike most careers, the men and women who embark upon a life in law enforcement know fully that they might one day be called upon to lay down their lives in the call of duty.
