Increase in Auto Burglaries

02/03/2026

The Tunica County Sheriff's Office is seeing an increase in vehicle burglaries being reported across the county. In many of these cases, suspects appear to be targeting firearms and cash left inside vehicles.
We are asking for the public's help in preventing these crimes by taking a few important precautions:

-Do not leave firearms in your vehicle, especially in plain view.
-Whenever possible, carry firearms and valuables inside your residence.
If you are visiting Tunica County, please take the same precautions to protect your property and help reduce opportunities for theft.

If you must leave items in your vehicle, secure them properly:

-Place valuables out of sight, preferably in the trunk
-Use a lock box
-Invest in a gun lock or other security device

Working together, we can help keep our community safer. If you see suspicious activity, report it immediately to local law enforcement. 662-363-1411

Stay alert. Lock it up. Take it inside.
