Recent Shootings in Tunica County

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, at approximately 11:58 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from an individual stating that he had been shot. Sheriff Deputies and First Responders were dispatched to the area on Fitzgerald Boulevard in Robinsonville, MS.

Upon arrival, Sheriff Deputies made contact with 18-year-old Jaylin Liddell of Tunica, who was suffering from a gun shot wound. The individual was treated on scene by Pafford and transported by Pafford to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 3:08 a.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received 911 calls advising of shots fired at the Tunica River Park located at 1 Riverpark Drive in Robinsonville, MS. The caller advised multiple people had been shot. Sheriff Deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, sheriff deputies made contact with 21-year-old Recovyon Reed, of Tunica, who had been shot. The individual was treated on scene by Pafford and transported by Pafford to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.

At approximately 4:23 a.m., Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a call advising that shots had been fired on the parking lot of Waffle House located at 13132 US Highway 61 in Robinsonville, MS. Upon sheriff deputies' arrival - no victims were located in reference to this incident.

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 4:52 a.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a call from an area hospital advising that 20-year-old Deonte Taylor, of Tunica, arrived by personal vehicle to be treated for a gunshot wound.

At approximately 5:18 a.m., Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call advising of shots fired on Prichard Road in the Old Sub area. Sheriff deputies in the area identified a black Infiniti car leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

Sheriff Deputies pursued this vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to stop and led sheriff deputies on a high-speed chase into DeSoto County on Arkabutla Dam Road over to Arkabutla Lake Dam in DeSoto County.

The vehicle crashed and three occupants bailed from the vehicle on foot. The individuals were pursued by Tunica County Sheriff's Office with assistance from DeSoto County Sheriff's Office. The three occupants were apprehended. The three individuals are identified as 23-year-old Antonio Allen of Tunica, 22-year-old Mylon Done of Friars Point, and 31-year-old Darrius Robinson of Memphis. The three were taken into custody. Upon inventory of the vehicle, in plain view deputies located and recovered multiple firearms.

At approximately 5:23 a.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call advising an individual had been shot and was located at a residence on Gay Street in the Old Sub area of Tunica, MS. Upon arrival to this location, deputies made contact with 21-year-old Ceedrick Wheeler, of Tunica, MS who had been shot. The individual was treated on scene by Pafford and transported by Pafford to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.

At approximately 6:03 a.m., Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a call from an area hospital advising that 30-year-old Khritavious Magsby, of Clarksdale, arrived by personal vehicle to be treated for a gunshot wound.

In addition to Allen, Done, and Robinson, an additional suspect has been taken into custody in relation to these incidents. Jon Talton (JT) Carter, 22-year-old of Tunica, MS is in custody of the Tunica County Sheriff's Office and is being charged with attempted murder in reference to the shooting incident that took place at the Tunica Riverpark on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

On Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 1:16 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call advising shots fired on Curtistine Drive in Tunica, MS. Sheriff deputies were dispatched to the area.

Upon arrival, Mario Lester, 18 years old, of Tunica suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated on scene by Pafford and transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Charles Davis Jr., 19 years old, of Tunica, MS has been identified as a person of interest in this incident. As of 3:15 p.m., Davis turned himself into the Tunica County Sheriff's Office and is currently in custody pending investigation.

This investigation is active and ongoing. Additional arrests will be made, possibly, for attempted murder and drive-by-shooting as it relates to gang involvement and gang retaliations. The Tunica County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by local, state, and federal agencies including the Tunica Police Department, Desoto County Sheriff's Office, Mississippi Bureau of Investigations, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The following individuals are out on bond pending ongoing criminal investigations. These individuals were granted bonds by Circuit Court Judges of the Tunica County Circuit Court due to the cases not being presented for indictment by the Eleventh Circuit Court District Attorney's Office as of 2025.

  • Jaylin Liddell - granted $50,000 bond for 2nd Degree Murder charge
  • Deonte Taylor - granted $25,000 bond for three (3) Capitol Murder charges, four (4) counts of conspiracy, four (4) counts of shooting into a motor vehicle, and one (1) count of drive-by-shooting
  • Ceedrick Wheeler - granted $25,000 bond for Aggravated Assault charge
  • Mario Lester - granted $100,000 bond for Murder charge
  • Antonio Allen - granted $35,000 bond Conspiracy and Accessory After the Fact
